Mr John Topliss

Mr John Topliss is a dedicated Assistant Principal with over 20 years experience as an Administrator in Catholic Schools in Western Australia. Since coming to St Anthony’s in 2007 John has undertaken the shared roles of Assistant Principal Administration/Religious Education and Assistant Principal in charge of the Year 3-6 cluster. As a teacher, presenter at CEWA and Ph D researcher at UNDA, John enjoys assisting children to learn more effectively and relishes the opportunity to also mentor beginning teachers in Catholic Schools. John is also the Inspire Teacher for academic extension and loves teaching the Year 6 class along with his Assistant Principal duties.


Ms Dee Johnston

Dee Johnston is currently the Acting Assistant Principal responsible for the early childhood cluster from 3 Plus to Year 2. Her teaching experience has predominantly been in the early childhood education, in both country and metropolitan schools. Dee started working at St Anthony’s School in 2008 as a Year 2 class teacher. In 2012, she was trained as a Reading Recovery Specialist Teacher and also provided junior literacy support. In 2015, Dee also trained as an EMU specialist, which is an early intervention in Mathematics called Extending Mathematical Understanding. In 2013, Dee was appointed as a Coordinator of Professional Learning and the Professional Learning Team was established to lead whole school professional learning. In 2014, Dee took on the role of Curriculum Coordinator including the Professional Learning for staff and the coordination of whole school curriculum projects, programs and foci. Dee is also responsible for the coordination of reporting to parents and standardised testing. She is currently studying for a Master of Education at Notre Dame University.
